The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) is a Commonwealth government funded programme and is free for eligible aged care recipients.

GWC Community Services (GWCCS) is an auspice funded under this programme and targets Greek speaking elderly people in subsidised residential aged care facilities, or those living at home and in receipt of a Home Care Package. It aims to reduce social isolation and loneliness resulting from cultural or language barriers or reduced contact from family and friends.

GWCCS provides trained volunteers who are matched to an aged care recipient. Visits occur weekly or fortnightly and aim to provide friendship and companionship.

This program is funded by the Australian Government, Department of Health and Aged Care.
